Solscope 2019: a favorable report for the only French International Exhibition dedicated to geotechnics, drilling and foundations.
The 13th edition of the Salon Solscope ended on June 27, after meeting for two days, in Marseille, professionals in geotechnical, drilling and foundations.
More than 2,200 participants, including 1,000 identified visitors, braved the heatwave and moved to the Chanot Park in Marseille.
Without reaching the exceptional result of the 2017 edition (+ 30%), the attendance of this biennial event thus equals its level of 2015. The stabilization of the visitors in a period of activity without comparison demonstrates the great interest carried by the sector to this event.
A highlight of the 2019 edition, the increase in the number of clients (+ 50%) who came to build or maintain the links necessary for the accomplishment of their project (s). Foreign visitors also mobilized, including the 48 participants of the Algerian delegation attracted by the discovery of national know-how.
For the 200 exhibiting companies present at Solscope 2019, + 20% compared to Salon 2017, the Marseilles edition was the occasion for meetings and in-depth exchanges with highly professional visitors. The quality of the visitors is the object of an almost general satisfaction of the exhibitors who answered the satisfaction survey carried out during the Show.
For the third consecutive year, the Exhibitors' Forum offered the opportunity to the companies (23 of them intervened) to present their innovations during the two days of the Show. The success of these short presentations suggests a dedicated space enlarged during the next edition.
Another highlight of Solscope 2019, the Innovation Awards brought together about fifteen candidates presenting solutions appreciated by the jury against the following criteria, without order of importance:
- technological progress ;
- saving time;
- the gain in reliability;
- cost reduction;
- the security contribution;
- the contribution to a sustainable development approach in its environmental, social and economic components.
During the gala evening, the Jury Prize was awarded to Freyssinet Products co. for its anchor CGA (Cuttable Ground Anchor), process to discover in your next edition of September 2019.
For the first time at the 2019 edition, the organizers opened the vote to the greatest number to award a second prize: the Audience Award. This formula generated a strong participation with more than a thousand votes. Nearly half of them went on Soletanche Bachy's Hydrofraise pilot training simulator. A plebiscite of a process that accelerates the training of machine operators that shows the tensions encountered by the profession in terms of recruitment.
With #JobSolscope, the Salon renewed its HR action by publishing nearly one hundred job offers. The initiative, which had received less attention in previous editions, was appreciated by all and will certainly be renewed, along with other similar actions to attract more young people and students.
Place of knowledge sharing, the conference generated rich and friendly professional exchanges between speakers and delegates. However, a decrease in the number of delegates was noted compared to the previous edition of the conference, despite a program provided and attractive, as demonstrated by the 2019 satisfaction survey conducted among participants.
Safeguarding heritage, the contribution of digital technology (GIS, BIM, CIM and big data), new security features and geotechnical context in the Mediterranean region were the four main themes of the 14 conferences delivered by high-level experts from around the world. enterprise, design offices, research centers or teaching.
