SOLSCOPE BALANCE SHEET 2017

Records for the 12th edition of SOLSCOPE, the national geotechnical, drilling and foundation fair, held on 14 and 15 June at the Eurexpo Park in Lyon.

Records of attendance, more than 2,000 participants from fifteen countries, records of the number of exhibitors, 134 and surface, more than 5,000 m2.

According to the testimonies of participants: "This event has become as unavoidable as necessary to the profession".
The conferences around the 4 themes (promotion of geotechnics, security, digital transition and hydrogeology) were the occasion for rich exchanges. The exhibitors' forum allowed visitors to learn more about the advances proposed by various design offices, manufacturers and distributors of materials during short presentations and debates. Some thirty offers of jobs and internships have been proposed as part of the job exchange.
For the third time, the SOLSCOPE jury, composed of the presidents of the professional organizations sponsoring SOLSCOPE, awarded the professionals with the SOLSCOPE Innovation Trophy. Eight applications were received this year:

  • BARTEC SYSCOM and AVNIR ENERGY (MR3000C vibration recorder for man-induced vibration monitoring)
  • BOTTE Fondations (A truck-free site, Grand Paris Métro Line 12)
  • GROUNDFORCE (Button MP500, modular buton of 500 tons capacity)
  • GTS (Carousel of drilling, Chantier de Rivière des Pluies)
  • JANSEN (JANSEN shark: shark skin technology in pipes)
  • KELLER (Determination of the diameter of jet-grouting columns)
  • MS (Optimization MS method: recovery of drilling mud and preservation of water)
  • SOLETANCHE BACHY (Hydrofraise with grippers)

The award was presented by Jacques ROBERT, Syntec Ingénierie, president of the jury, on the occasion of the SOLSCOPE evening at the Manoir de la Garde in Jarnioux, in front of 350 guests.

The winner 2017 is the company MS for its process of valorisation of the drilling muds and preservation of the water. The jury awarded a special mention to the files classified second and third, presented by SOLETANCHE BACHY and KELLER.

This evening was also marked by the presentation of the first 20 diplomas of "geotechnical surveyors", in the presence of Mr. Jaouen, Ministry of National Education. This recognition is the culmination of the work carried out by the Union Syndicale Géotechnique (USG), chaired by Pascal Chassagne, and the Toulouse Rectorate within the framework of the validation of acquired learning (VAE).

Next meeting in November in SOLSCOPE Mag, the magazine of Geotechnics, Drilling and Foundations for a detailed report.
